RoR / LaBelle Shell-aBration [Take-2] — Registration Page
Volunteers are ONCE AGAIN invited to join Restore or Retreat in lower Golden Meadow at the LaBelle Oyster Dock for a Shell-Bagging Good Time. We will Shell-abrate our coastal protection and resilience efforts by giving back to our wetlands.
- What: Oyster Shell Volunteer Bagging [Take-2] Event
- When: Saturday, September 27th, 2025 9am to 3pm
- Where: 20927 LA-1 Golden Meadow, Louisiana (9Q22+QM Golden Meadow, Louisiana)
- Age Restriction: You must be 18 years or older to participate
*Please note that everything you need for the event will be provided including hydration and lunch. Restore or Retreat volunteers are needed to bag oyster shells for a future deployment in our wetlands. These shells will become the foundation for a living reef. Eventually these shells will have live oysters placed on them to facilitate the growth of the reef. What we anticipate happening is enhancing and supporting fisheries biodiversity. The overall goal is multifaceted and will also work to address erosion control and sediment retention for the adjacent terraces in order to rebuild wetlands in an area that is suffering substantial land loss.
