ROR’s Virtual Earth Day Celebration
Happy Earth Day 2020!
Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22 to demonstrate support for healthy environments. First celebrated in 1970, it now includes events coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries. Join us in this worldwide day of appreciating and learning about our unique environments and the climates in which they thrive, and why.
In celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Restore or Retreat is taking to the skies and traveling the globe to visit some of the Earth’s wonders that aren’t too far from home! Buckle your seat belts and grab a travel snack–we’re heading to volcanoes, canyons, caverns, tortugas, fjords and of course, Louisiana wetlands!
Louisiana Wetlands Virtual Flyover
Join ROR’s own Simone Maloz and Dr. Alisha Renfro of National Wildlife Federation and Restore the Mississippi River Delta as they guide you on a virtual flyover through the wetlands of Lafourche, Terrebonne and St. Mary Parishes.. from the comfort of your own home! In our best flight attendant voice, “Flight LA Coast departing from South Lafourche Airport is now boarding…”
Ranger-led National Park Tours
The National Park Service has featured some of their geological world wonders with ranger-led tours of five parks. Click each park to be transported to a different part of the U.S. to explore unique environments, what you may see there, and why!
